O Iesu cu tosturia di

(Parodrwydd i Farw)
O Iesu cu, tosturia di,
  A rho i mi ddoethineb
I'th ddewis di yn rhan i mi
  Cyn myn'd i dragwyddoldeb.

Rho nerth i 'mroi
    drwy ffydd i droi,
  A ffoi rhag pob ffolineb;
Can's mawr yw'r gwaith,
    a ber yw'r daith,
  A maith yw tragwyddoldeb!

Ni thâl hi ddim fod lamp wych im',
  Heb olew, grym duwioldeb;
A budd nis ca'
    trwy weithred dda,
  Heb Grist, yn nhragwyddoldeb.

Cyn imi orwedd yn fy medd
  Rho imi wedd dy wyneb;
A'th enw mawr ei foli wnaf
  Hyd eithaf tragwyddoldeb.

O Iesu cu, tosturia di,
  A rho i mi ddoethineb,
I'th ddewis di yn rhan i mi,
  Cyn myn'd i drag'wyddoldeb.

Gwna im' ymroi
    trwy ffydd i droi,
  A ffoi rhag pob ffolineb;
Can's mawr yw'r gwaith,
    a byrr yw'r daith,
  A maith yw trag'wyddoldeb!

Ni thâl e' ddim fod lamp wych im'
  Heb olew, grym duwioldeb,
A budd nis ca'
    trwy weithred dda,
  Heb Grist, yn nhrag'wyddoldeb.

Crist ydyw rhan fy enaid gwan,
  Fy nharian a'm doethineb,
Fy mrawd a'm Duw a'm Priod yw,
  Mae'n byw yn nhrag'wyddoldeb.

Caf fyn'd yn llon
    at Crist fy Iôn,
  A byw ger bron ei wyneb,
Mewn goleu clir, a chariad pûr
  Cyn hîr yn nhrag'wyddoldeb.

Tôn [MS 8787]: Cyffin (<1876)

gwelir: Pan ballo ffafr pawb a'u hedd

(Readiness to Die)
O dear Jesus, have mercy,
  And give me wisdom
To choose thee as my portion
  Before I go to eternity.

Give strength to devote myself
    through faith to turn,
  And flee from all folly;
Since great is the work,
    and short is the journey,
  And vast is eternity!

It pays me nothing that my brilliant lamp,
  Be without oil, the power of godliness.
And I shall get no benefit
    through good action,
  Without Christ in eternity.

Before I rest in my grave
  Grant me to see thy face;
And thy great name I shall praise
  To the utmost end of eternity.

               - - - - -

O dear Jesus, have mercy,
  And give me wisdom,
To choose thee as my portion,
  Before I go to eternity.

Make me devote myself
    through faith to turn,
  And flee from all folly;
Since great is the work,
    and short is the journey,
  And vast is eternity!

It pays me nothing that my brilliant lamp
  Be without oil, the power of godliness,
And I shall get no benefit
    through good action,
  Without Christ, in eternity.

Christ is the portion of my weak soul,
  My shield and my wisdom,
My brother and my God and my Spouse he is,
  He is living in eternity.

I shall get to go cheerfully
    to Christ my Lord,
  And life before his face,
In clear light, and pure love
  Before long in eternity.
